The
West Course, also known as La Princesa, is the newest of the 3 La Manga
Club golf course's and is very different indeed to the North and South.
It is not the longest of the three La Manga Club courses measuring
6500 yards (5791 metres), but accuracy, not length here is the keyword.
Placing your golf ball in the correct position and in play, are a must
to score well. With many water hazards and barranca there is a good chance
that you may lose a ball or two. The views around the course and the thought
you need to put in to play it well, mean this is a wonderful place to
play.
The course is quite hilly and some holes do have a longish walk between
so it may be advisable to hire a buggy. You can book this when you book
your tee-time.
The 1st looks on the card a very simple hole, wait until you step onto
the tee, tree lined narrow fairway, out of bounds right, large lake in
front of the green and only 309 metres from the white tee. Once on the
18th tee you can see for miles around whilst gazing down at the fairway
many feet below, a truly stunning hole and view.
The par of the course is 73 and standard scratch of 71 (from the yellow
tees).
West Course Maintenance:
May 12th to 16th 2008: Whole course closed
October 13th to 17th 2008: Whole course closed
